Latest Movies 2019 | Married At First Sight: What Happened To Gil After Season 13

Gil Cuero and Myrla Feria had a rough go on Married at First Sight, but he's held his head high since filming. He is leaning on his friends and looking toward the future. Gil and Myrla weren't the only pair that struggled this season, with the expert matchmakers yielding fewer success stories than usual. The show is known for its low success rate overall.

Things didn't bode well from the jump, as Myrla was skeptical of Gil's baldness despite his very handsome face. Early on, Gil said he wanted to feel more desired by Myrla. He thought that she enjoyed the married label but didn't feel love for him. When the group asked if they'd kissed yet, he joked that the short and long answers were both no. While the two grew to appreciate each other, and Gil even started to fall in love, Myrla couldn't fully reciprocate his feelings. As for Gil, he didn't enjoy Instagram boomerangs or eating out. Myrla asked, "you're not gonna take your wife out on the weekend?" Weekly brunch was too much for Gil, who wanted more than the facade of a happy couple. Fans didn't think Gil and Myrla would last, and they were right.

After the pair opted to divorce, Gil felt blindsided and he couldn't stomach sitting through the reunion. He was frustrated that he came into the show with a core sense of optimism and positivity that he couldn't bring to the reunion. He didn't take the divorce lightly and found the breakdown of his relationship frustrating. Since filming, Gil did a long Instagram Live with fans, where he revealed that he's studying to be a paramedic. He also said that he didn't regret doing the show because of his positive relationships with the cast and crew. However, he also said he wouldn't do it again. While Gil and Myrla's breakup hurt, he is now focused on himself. Gil posted a shot of him enjoying a drink in Houston on Instagram, no boomerang needed, as seen below:

Gil also corrected the misconception that he doesn't like Black women. He told the experts that he was interested in Latino and Black women and that he's dated all types of people. Currently, he is not dating, and he's focused on therapy, which he recommends for everyone. When the time is right, he suggests a straightforward approach for interested fans who are trying to slide into his direct messages. At the moment, Gil says he's not prepared to be vulnerable again yet, and Myrla also seems focused only on friendships.  Gil also made it clear that he would not be interested in being The Bachelor if approached.

Overall, Gil seemed as authentic online as he was on the show. With a big heart and a desire to always tell the truth, Gil certainly deserves a relationship that is fully reciprocal and sustainable. While Married at First Sight wasn't the path to a happily ever after for him, Gil still feels love for Myrla, and he's optimistic about the future.
