Latest Movies 2019 | Apex Legends Is Introducing Story Content With Apex Chronicles

Respawn Entertainment has announced that Apex Legends will be receiving a brand-new event series called Apex Chronicles, which will introduce a chain of story quests to the title's ongoing Battle Royale experience to help expand its narrative. The acclaimed free-to-play multiplayer shooter, Apex Legends, continues to receive updates in the form of new Legends and maps1, and its upcoming season 11 is set to add to the experience with new quality-of-life additions. Dataminers also claim that Apex Legends' season 11 will add an island map.

Apex Legends launched in 2019 as a spin-off of Respawn's popular franchise, Titanfall, and introduced a new innovative Battle Royale experience. It was lauded for its first-person shooter combat and refined movement mechanics, and it boasted a unique setting filled with a rich cast of characters that had their own personalities, origin stories, and divergent abilities to withstand the battlefield. Although its narrative was originally insubstantial, over time the title saw new in-game changes and events along with cinematic tie-ins. These helped fans dive deeper into the universe of Titanfall to understand the lore surrounding Apex Legends' characters and why the Apex Games exist, and this, coupled with a free Steam weekend, led Titanfall 2 to break its concurrent player record.

Described as a "bite-sized story event" on EA's official website, Apex Chronicles will expand Apex Legends' narrative by adding more story elements through objectives and challenges in normal matches. The first Apex Chronicle is called Old Ways, New Dawn and is themed around Bloodhound, who must complete a special quest. Players can begin the event by finding a white raven in a randomized location at World's Edge  while playing as Bloodhound. This randomization is used to make the event different for each player and ensures unique paths so that multiple Bloodhounds can take on the challenge without overlapping each other. Additionally, If the mission isn't completed in one go by the end of the match, players can start from the checkpoint they left off on in their next game. Respawn also detailed that new chapters will open up every few days, and players can earn Battle Pass stars and three Apex packs themed around Bloodhound for fully completing the event.

The title's latest season, named Emergence, began on August 3rd and is set to conclude on November 2nd. While players faced numerous server issues that persisted despite the developers’ attempts to fix the ongoing problems, the season witnessed many new changes to the game's Battle Royale map and brought a new Legend called Seer, who expanded Apex Legends' lore even further. Following the character's release, Seer became one of the most popular Legends in Apex Legends due to his unique abilities, character background, and the distinctive aesthetic revolving around his appearance.

Apex Chronicles is currently themed around Bloodhound, but more Legends are destined to get story events in the foreseeable future. This will hopefully help expand their origin stories and administer more storytelling into Apex Legends. Before then, however, players can jump into Bloodhound's Old Ways, New Dawn, as the masked recon Legend begins a journey to save an injured prowler and deal with the guilt over their previous debacles and the decimated World's Edge.
