Latest Movies 2019 | Pokémon Unite Video Shows Venusaur's Solar Beam Has Ridiculous Range

Some attacks are more powerful than others in Pokémon Unite, and one fan has demonstrated how devastating Venusaur’s Solar Beam can be. Nintendo and TiMi Studio Group launched their Pokémon-themed MOBA title on the Nintendo Switch back in July, with Pokémon Unite set to release on mobile devices in September.

As with all competitive multiplayer titles, character balance has always been a point of contention among fans of Pokémon Unite, even this early in the game's lifespan. Various buffs and nerfs for Pokémon Unite characters like Grenja and Snorlax have been patched in over the past couple of months, and some fans have wondered whether or not adding fan-favorite Pokémon like the infamously powerful Mewtwo would break the game's balance. Not helping in this discussion are the accusations that Pokémon Unite features unfair pay-to-win mechanics, an issue that TiMi Studio Group has addressed in the past through online fan polls.

Just a couple of days ago, Reddit user Kenny_KY illustrated the stunning range of Venusaur’s Solar Beam attack in Pokémon Unite by posting a humorous video to r/PokemonUnite. This brief clip features scenes of Chuck Norris firing off a sniper rifle in 1983's Lone Wolf McQuade, spliced in with gameplay footage of Venusaur firing off its Solar Beam at various opponents near and far. When it is all over, Venusaur’s team has gained over 20 additional points as Chuck stands triumphant atop a sunset hill.

Despite an overwhelmingly poor response from fans when it was first announced, Pokémon Unite has built up a considerable player base since its launch late last month. In addition to altering attacks and character stats, Nintendo is already adding a wealth of new content to the game in the form of additional Pokémon like Gardevoir and Blissey. There have also been several alternate character skins, as well as a new Pokémon Unite spectator mode that allows outsiders to watch battles unfold rather than participate in them themselves. This is currently being implemented on a limited-time trial basis, with a permanent version presumably coming to Pokémon Unite in a future update.

Fans are still working through Pokémon Unite’s metagame at this early stage in the game’s lifespan, and Kenny_KY's video is an amusing demonstration of just how powerful Venusaur's Solar Beam can be – even at long range. Whether or not the attack is too powerful and Pokémon Unite needs rebalancing as a result remains to be seen, but for now, it seems that Venasaur will continue dominating from afar with Solar Beam.
