A climbing glitch in Genshin Impact has Tartaglia scaling cliff faces with a jaunty little dance, and players can't really be mad about it. A Redditor posted a video of the animation hiccup, and while it's not a catastrophic glitch or even particularly annoying, it's still at least amusing.
The issue seems to be limited to Tartaglia, also known as Childe, a character who was introduced to the Genshin Impact lineup in the 1.1 update. Tartaglia was introduced initially as a boss, but he became a playable character later on and quickly gained favor among fans for his backstory as much as his usefulness in battle. Although he was only obtainable via the game's Gacha pull system (or a lot of real-life money), he was proven to be a worthwhile investment as one of the most powerful characters in the game.
Genshin Impact has had its fair share of snafus, thanks largely to its free-to-play model that is a lot less free when players want to actually accomplish something. But for all of the usual criticisms levied at it and other games of its ilk, its vast open world and heavily detailed environment lend it a tremendous amount of playability value. That also means that there's plenty of little issues to find as well, some funnier than others, including a climbing animation issue with Tartaglia that Redditor Kshi-dragonfly documented. In the below video they shared, Tartaglia scales a cliff face with one leg working properly and the other doing a jaunty little extended kick in rhythm with his ascent.
It's a minor physics glitch that does nothing to interfere or break the game in any way, and it's unlikely that it's a development priority so anyone who wants to replicate it for giggles can easily do so at the time of writing. It's unknown whether or not this particular issue is limited to just Tartaglia or if any other characters are similarly affected, but it's far more likely something having to do with his character model and animations. It's another little bug that, like other, more impactful glitches, is more entertaining than anything else.
Either way, for anyone lucky or loose enough with their spare cash to have snagged Tartaglia can check out his little dance moves the next time they take him for a climb up a sheer cliff face, or wait for the memes that will inevitably follow.
Genshin Impact is available for PS4, PC, iOS, and Android.
