Robert Redford Avengers Endgame Russo BrothersMovie legend Robert Redford told the Russo Brothers on the set of Avengers: Endgame that it would be his last role on film ever.

It was a surprise when an actor of his caliber in Robert Redford originally joined the cast of Captain Ameria: The Winter Soldier. Despite Robert Redford’s Alexander Pierce dying in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the actor made an unexpected appearance in Avengers: Endgame. This was a shock to many because Robert Redford originally said 2018’s The Old Man & the Gun was going to be his last film.

Robert Redford’s small role came when the Avengers traveled back in time to New York 2012, as they tried to obtain the tesseract. The scene added another layer to the MCU and set the stage for what we eventually saw with HYDRA role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. During the Avengers: Endgame commentary track, the filmmakers spoke about how the Marvel Studios film will be his final film:

Christopher Marcus: And this is, as declared by the man himself on set, Robert Redford’s last movie role.

Joe Russo: That was his last day of acting…ever.

Anthony Russo: His last performance, Stan Lee’s last performance.

Joe Russo: Yeah, seven years of really incredible moments on these movies, this is certainly up there, directing Robert Redford’s last day.

Anthony Russo: Mr. Redford may change his mind, appear in another movie.

While Avengers: Endgame is seemingly Robert Redford’s final film, the legendary actor will reportedly appear as himself on HBO’s Watchmen series as the U.S. President.

Marvel fans have been clamoring to see Mysterio in a live-action film ever since the release of Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man movie. Nearly two decades later, Mysterio finally made his way into a Spider-Man film with the release of Marvel Studios and Sony's Far From Home, with Jake Gyllenhaal portraying the classic Spidey foe.

While the writers incorporated elements of previous Marvel Studios films for the origin of Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio, this take on the character was largely faithful to the source material, especially in terms of the villain's costume design. However, new concept illustrations reveal alternate designs for Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio suit were considered, some of which are notably different from the comic book outfit with entirely different color schemes.
